about suga pak        ABOUT SUGA PAK

I have been living with diabetes for fifteen years. Diagnosed at age fourteen, my management has matured significantly due to the evolution of science. I am blessed to be a patient with diabetes in this day and age and I owe it to the research and technology that has drastically advanced. We have an increasing number of various tools available to assist us with our management. There are new and more developed insulins, various injection pens, finer syringes, and even more accurate insulin pumps and blood glucose monitors.

Diabetes can be very frustrating to control but with education, dedication, and motivation, we all have the opportunity to live a long and healthy life. We must focus on our blood sugar levels, insulin injections, excercise, and our caloric and carbohydrate intake on a daily basis. We have control over the destiny of our diabetes.

Organization is one of the initial steps to diabetes management. Although it is a non-visual disease, we must think about it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We must be prepared for any situation at anytime. It may be the need to test our blood sugar, take our insulin or oral medication, correct a high or low blood sugar level, or simply record a reading. Therefore, we must have our diabetic supplies with us at all times to assist us with gaining tight control over our diabetes.

I am a very active, young professional, who needs to carry my diabetic supplies with me wherever I go. I wanted a bag that fit all of my needs. My entire life, I have used camera cases, cosmetic bags, or pencil cases. I have been unsuccessful in finding a bag that met all of my needs. After much market research and many discussions with other people living with diabetes, I decided to design my own bag called the Suga Pak.
